Dr. Gowhar Ali, Ph.D. in Pharmacology, currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Peshawar, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan and completed his Post-Doctorate Fellowship in Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago Illinois, USA. Laboratory of Neurogenomics and Novel Therapies Web Site – Research and Patient Care at Northwestern

Dr. Gowhar Ali has conducted his Ph.D. research on “Preclinical Evaluation of Selected Synthetic Bioisosteric Nitrogen-Containing Salicyl Alcohol Derivatives in Inflammation, Pyrexia, Ulcerogenicity and Pain Modalities”.He has got training in the field of pharmacology and carried out research of preclinical evaluation of compounds both from the synthetic and natural origin for their potential use in inflammation, pain, pyrexia, and neuropathy. 

During his Ph.D. studies, he worked on live animals, performed surgical procedures and analyzed different biochemical parameters in blood samples.

He has the expertise of handling and conducting research on laboratory animals (Mice, Rats, Rabbits, Pigeons) and performing related experiments including phlebotomy. He has published Fifty Five publications in well-reputed peer-review international/national journals with a cumulative impact factor of about150+ with total citations 1311.

Dr. Ali boasts an academic distinction, having earned Gold medals in recognition of his academic achievements. His resume clearly reflects his outstanding academic career. With fifteen of university teaching experience, he has also served as an examiner for several universities. Currently, Dr. Ali imparts his extensive knowledge by teaching Pharmacology and Therapeutics-I, II to second and third-year Prof. Pharm.D. students. Additionally, he teaches the subject of experimental pharmacology/chemotherapy to M.Phil and Ph.D. students. Furthermore, Dr. Ali possesses supervision experience, overseeing projects in pharmacology and clinical pharmacy conducted by students in various teaching hospitals of Peshawar. These projects serve as a partial fulfillment for the award of degrees such as Pharm.D, MPhil, and Ph.D.
